About the event

For example a birthday, festival, race day, concert or club function.

This decides whether the driver waits or comes back, which changes the price.

Will there be alcohol on board?

Asking up front lets us confirm what is allowed on the vehicle you are quoted, before you book.

No obligation. Every quote includes the driver, fuel and GST.

What you are booking

How Sporting clubs works with us

Club transport has two problems: the gear, and the day that never finishes when the draw says it will. We size vehicles for kit bags, eskies and equipment as well as for bodies, because a squad that seats comfortably can still end up standing next to a pile of bags at the kerb. For carnivals and all-day draws the driver stays with the team rather than dropping and leaving, so a late final does not turn into a scramble for lifts home. Season-long arrangements — the same away-game run every second Saturday — are quoted as one program with consistent vehicles instead of a fresh booking every fortnight.

Sizing the vehicle

Sizing the vehicle for Sporting clubs

Start with the headcount, then adjust for what the group is carrying. A suitcase each, or a set of sporting gear, moves a booking up a size even when the seats already fit — which is why the quote form asks about luggage as well as passengers.

Where these groups go

Runs we plan most often for Sporting clubs

Each of these has its own page with the shape of the day, the pick-up notes and what the drive actually involves. Distances and driving times are approximate road figures.

Canberra School and club travel
  • ≈ 285 km
  • 3h – 3h 30m
  • Overnight or multi-day
Which vehicle suits the Canberra run
Three hours each way rules out the small end of the fleet. Reclining seats stop being a luxury on a leg this long, and underfloor luggage stops being optional the moment the trip runs overnight — a year group with overnight bags and a club with kit both need a proper bin rather than a rear cupboard. For a class or a squad, an executive minibus or a midi-coach with a PA works well and parks easily at the institutions. For a full year level, a forty-eight or fifty-three seat coach carries everyone in one vehicle with one driver and one set of arrangements at every venue, which is far easier to supervise than two vehicles arriving three minutes apart. Beyond fifty-seven passengers we run a coordinated convoy with one run sheet and staggered loading. If the trip is multi-day or continues past Canberra, ask us about a touring coach with restroom options.
Port Stephens Overnight and weekend
  • ≈ 205 km
  • 2h 30m – 3h
  • Overnight or weekend
Which vehicle suits the Port Stephens run
Overnight means bags, and bags mean a proper luggage bay. For up to about fourteen people a high-roof Sprinter with a rear bay is comfortable and fits into resort and holiday-park driveways easily. Between fifteen and twenty-four an executive minibus works, though a weekend group of twenty-four with a bag each is close to its limit. From about twenty-five upward a midi-coach or full-size coach with underfloor bins is the honest recommendation: the legs are long enough for reclining seats to matter and the luggage has somewhere to go. The one constraint worth checking early is your accommodation: resort forecourts and holiday parks vary in what they can take, and a coach that cannot turn around has to reverse out of somewhere it should not have entered. Send us the address at the quote stage and we will look at it before the day.
Stadium shuttles Accor, Qudos, Allianz
  • ≈ 16 km
  • 20 – 60 min
  • Match night or event
Which vehicle suits the Stadium shuttles run
On event work, capacity is about how many runs you want to make rather than how many people you have. One fifty-three seat coach takes a full supporter group in a single movement, which is the simplest thing to manage in a crowd: one vehicle, one meeting point, one headcount. Two twenty-four-seat minibuses give you more flexibility on where you can stop and can run a loop between a club and the venue, which suits a group arriving in waves after work. For a corporate group being collected from an office and returned to the city, an executive minibus or a midi-coach is usually the comfortable answer. Luggage is rarely a factor at a stadium, so seats are the honest limit here — and if the group is likely to grow between booking and the night, tell us, because moving up a size later depends on what is still available for a date the whole city wants.

Sporting clubs across Greater Sydney

We collect from any address in the Sydney basin — a school gate, a hotel forecourt, an office loading zone or a house. There is no travel surcharge inside Greater Sydney, and we confirm a legal, workable stopping point in writing before the day.

FAQs

Before you book

The questions we get most often. If yours isn't here, call and ask — we'd rather answer it now than have you find out later.

Get a club quote

Is there room for kit and equipment?
Tell us what is coming and we will size for it. Coaches and midi-coaches have underfloor bays that take kit bags, eskies and equipment easily; minibuses use rear and overhead storage, which fills faster than most people expect. Bulky items such as rowing gear or bikes need to be declared so we assign a vehicle that genuinely fits them.
Can the bus stay with us all day at a carnival?
Yes, and for most all-day draws it is the sensible option. The driver stays with the team through the day and does the return whenever the last game finishes, within their legal driving hours. Booked that way it usually costs less than two separate transfers with a long gap in between.
Can we book a whole season at once?
Yes. Send us the draw and we will quote the season as one program, with the same vehicle size throughout and a single invoicing arrangement rather than a booking every fortnight. Fixtures that move are handled as changes to the program.

I must say, from start to finish Sydney Buses provided an absolutely wonderful service. Gordon was ever so helpful during the booking process and nothing was too much trouble. The buses were spotless and the drivers were courteous…

We came over from America with a pretty big group and used Sydneybuses during our time in Sydney. Honestly, the whole experience was great. The bus was super clean, comfortable, and actually felt high quality compared to a lot of charter…
